The Architecture of Endurance
Ho’Omau Endurance was forged in 2024 on the shores of Waikiki Beach, Oahu, by serial entrepreneur and veteran endurance athlete Andy Funk. While the company was conceptualized in Hawaii, the blueprint for Ho’Omau had been in development since 2014 in Andy’s home state – California—waiting for the precise moment where sports science, global connectivity, and athlete necessity converged.
The name Ho’Omau was chosen for its resonance with the athlete who refuses to quit. It is a word that demands persistence, perpetuation, and an unwavering commitment to the pursuit. Based in Santa Monica, California, we have evolved from a singular vision into a global infrastructure designed to support athletes of all endurance sports (swimming, cycling, running, triathlon, rowing and winter) through every stage of their evolution.
The Human Operating System
Our mission is to eliminate the guesswork in human performance. We operate on the principle that every athlete deserves access to the same ‘Mission Intel’ used by the world’s elite. We have synthesized decades of sports science, venture-scale technology, and raw endurance experience into a singular, decentralized ecosystem.
But data is only half the engine. In an increasingly digitized world—where human interaction is often reduced to a screen and a scroll—Ho’Omau is a movement toward the analog connection. We believe that the profound friendships can be forged through the shared suffering of a high-altitude training block.
We are building a global community where sports serve as the bridge to real, visceral human connection. We use technology to gather the intel, but we use the sport to gather the people. At Ho’Omau, we don’t just build faster athletes; we build a tribe of individuals who value the sweat, the story, and the person standing next to them more than the device in their pocket.
The mission is high-tech. The connection is high-touch. The pursuit is human.
